"Keep working through whatever comes. Your biggest enemy is fear."

How did you discover the medium you currently work in? I work in an ever-evolving set of media: wax, tar, dry pigment, and oil.
How do you define "artist"? I don't!
How did you discover the Gateway Arts District? I moved into my studio six years ago and there it was! I was privileged to have one of the very early shows at our crown jewel, the Gateway Arts Center.
If you could give your younger self a piece of advice about being an artist, what would it be? Keep working through whatever comes. Your biggest enemy is fear.
What drives you? I love making things. It's pretty simple.
What is your greatest challenge as an artist? My greatest challenge is keeping fresh.
What are you working on right now? I'm preparing a collaborative show dealing with the effects of climate change and co-curating the fourth show in the Zeitgeist series that I curate with Sondra Arkin.

"If I call myself an artist, I have to prove it and create dialogues that invite investigation."

"I think of the word 'art' similarly to the word 'natural', often used yet the definition will go on indefinitely."
